Self Reflection

My name is Evette Hauschel and this is my wonderful family.  One thing that I know I do well is being a wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt.  I'm often at my best, when I'm working hard for my family and spending quality time with them.

Favorite Gadgets:
We are moving in the direction of Technology and I'm so behind the time with the latest electronic gadgets and gizmo.  One gadget that I used growing up, is a record player.  Although it didn't look like this one, I enjoyed playing my vinyl records, like the Beatles, Earth Wind and Fire and Elton John. Currently I have a recent model player, I still enjoy listening to the large collection I've gathered over the years.  The recent electronic gadget that I enjoyed using in my classroom is the Elmo Projector.  This was one of my classroom supplies and I used it to present lessons, and classroom presentation.  Its versatility of allowing you to present images, video, audio stories and lesson that helped my student connect to an audio learning process.  The Elmo was one tool that allowed students to share their creative work activity.  It was also a way for my students to build confidence within themselves to share openly with the class.  I enjoyed seeing the proud face at the end of their presentation.

Work Ethics

I'm a dedicated and hard worker, but needs help with time management.  I believe that my strongest attribute is working well with others.  In my former classes, I have been a good community contributor that help our group complete our projects on time.  In my current job, it is important to collaborate with the team, so that our classroom, students and school, so that we can provide the best education experience for our students.

Technology in The Classroom
The following technology in the classroom is based on how we can integrate it in a preschool setting. These two video shows that young children are resilient and is able to grasp the use of technology.  Although young children from the age of 1 or 2 years old are able to comprehend technology like cell phones and computers, based on having these technology readily available in their homes.

This technology video provides information on a wonderful program that benefits early educational stages for early child toddlers.  Technology such as smart board and TeachSmart system allow preschooler to interact using large images in Language Art, Math, Science and more.  Teachers are able to use this system program to record students assessment and use this documents for parent teacher conferences.  This is one technology that should be place in all early child or Preschool classroom.

This video speaks about how important integrating technology in a preschool classroom.  One teacher shared that 3,4,and 4 years are technology savvy and ready to operate it in a private setting to enhance their learning.  This school received a grant toward purchasing technology for their school.
